Barry Adkins lives in Gilbert, Arizona. His son Kevin died as the result of alcohol poisoning, and Barry has determined to walk from Gilbert to Kalispell, Montana with his son's ashes to raise awareness about the dangers of binge drinking. He has spoken at schools, meetings and rallies all along the way through Arizona, Utah, Idaho and Montana. He arrived in Kalispell on June 28 and will be involved in the final presentation on July 1 and then will leave his son's remains in Montana, where he loved to be. Read about Barry's journey at his blog, and then visit notmykid.org for more information on preventing binge drinking.

Berry is a wonderful example of a father’s love for his son. Berry’s talk struck a cord with the citizen’s of Kalispell Montana. As the coordinator of a local Underage Drinking Task Force, I had the opportunity to speak to him about his mission. He is a great man and impacted my life. Thanks “Not my Kid” for making it happen.
