What happened to cause the divorce?
We've been together 20 years, married for 1 of them and everything just soured. We separated I moved out for 5 months and had to move back to not let the house my wife and child were in get foreclosed on. Once I came back to help she moved out. She has a drug problem, no money whatsoever and in the month she has been gone has only seen her son for 30 minutes .. and I am being generous..
How did you personally cope with the divorce?
I am trying to find the best way to file and have joint, full, custody of a 15 year old boy. I tried to leave like I said and it was going well with our agreement. I kept up on my end of the agreement but she did not. Now it's time for divorce. I know if I expose her to the court system for what she is, I will get full custody but do not want to do that and want this to be as nice as can be.. she has nothing!!!! I have a few assets which I can sell to pay for an attorney and in a sense ruin her life. I don't want to do that at all.
Lessons Learned
- Never get married. I never realized that getting married is so much easier than divorcing. Why does divorce have to be so difficult?
