What happened to cause the divorce?
I started a blog that goes over my divorce experience and the absolute HELL I am going through. I wrote this blog as a release mechanism and a way to share my experience. Bottom line is some women will make your life as bad as they can and do not care about how it will affect your kids. My story is http://bensbaddivorce.blogspot.com/2010/07/in-end.html. How did you personally cope with the divorce?
I coped with my divorce by talking with friends about the events. The hardest part about my divorce was not being around my sons. I had to spend so much time away from them instead of being with them and loving on them; I had to wait for my time with them. I tried not to think about it but it was so hard to focus on other things when they were about a mile away and I could not simply drive up there and see them. Instead I buried myself in work and working out. I also started blogging in hopes to relieve some pain by discussing the situation.
Lessons Learned
- No matter what... do not trust what your spouse tells you about divorce. She has only her best interest in mind. Nothing else maters not even your children's well being. Also, if your spouse hits you act on it go to the police before she does.
What was your experience with legal process?
The courts will always side with the women. They will always have the upper hand in a divorce. My wife makes as much as I do but I have to pay child support and she will not let me have my children equally. I was the main provider when we were together and she ripped me from that role.
What was the outcome of the divorce proceeding?
She has full custody of the kids. I get to see them 38 percent of the time or 5 days out of 14; nowhere near enough to build a solid relationship with them. The other stuff doesn't matter to me.
How is it going now?
Life sucks. I miss my kids. I pay her a lot of money and she honestly uses it on herself. Those dollars should go to our children for things in their life and she uses it on Nordstrom's and dates with other people. I just want more time with my boys and only time will tell if I get it.
