The first of all the First Night celebrations, the one in Boston is still amazing. Featuring enterainment from The Lionel Loueke Trio, Dean and Britta, and Bettye Lavette, it will be a frist-class event this year.
Fort Collins, Colorado also has a great First Night planned for 2011. Top Hogs from Animal Planet fame will be part of a robust enterainment package. First Night buttons are $10 each this year, but well worth the cost.
Tons of entertainment, a parade, fireworks and an amazine Grand Finale await visitors to First Night in Piuttsburgh, Pennsylvania this year. Blues and jazz and events at the Pittsburgh International Children's Theater are among the most popular attractions. Over 100,000 participants are expected this year.
In the Washington D.C. area, there are several First Night Celebrations. In Alexandria, Virginia, First Night will feature 100 live performances in 17 different downtown venues and a laser and fireworks display at midnight. Kids can enjoy face painting, clowns and interactive games. Buttons are $20 but children 12 and under are free.
Hartford, Connecticut has an awesome First Night 2011 planned. You can attend the U. Conn vs. South Florida basketball game, make masks, see improv comedy, listen to live music of many varieties, and watch two different fireworks displays. Wristbands are $10 for adults and $2 for children under 16.
Located in downtown and midtown St. Pete, this celebration features fireworks, entertainment, food and more! Micheal Lynch from American Idol will be the headliner. Adult admission is $12 and $6 for ages 6 to 12.
Knoxville, Tennessee has a great First Night planned for 2011 also. Featured entertainers include Hudson K, Sara Schwabe and Her Yankee Jass Band, Those Darlins and Jodie Manross. They have also planned a big children's festival at the East Tennessee History Center. Buttons are $15 each in advance or $20 at the door. Children under 6 enjoy free admission.
Charlotte is putting together an amazing First Night event again this year. Entertainment includes Sarah Mullen, Charlotte Comedy Theater, Simply Irresistable and Daniel D.
Downtown Fullerton, California features one of the larger First Nights in California. Face painting, balloon art, ice skating and a Kids' Lane are all fun for the kids, and the whole family will enjoy a karaoke competition, Los Fabulocos Bubba abd the Big Bad Blues.
The First Night Celebration in St. Louis, Missouri is full of family fun., Jugglers, puppeteers, storytellers and improv abound. Admisison buttons are $8 for adults and $4 for children under 12; button prices are $10 and $5 at the gate the night of the event.
