Guide Review - My Dad and Me
I recently read My Dad and Me on a business trip. Compiled by CNN personality Larry King, this book is a compliation of stories of King's famous guests, showcasing their views of the influence of their fathers in their lives.

While the book was an enjoyable read, not all the stories were positive. Psychic Uri Gellar talks about his father's multiple affairs and the influence that had on his mother and his family. Exercise guru Jack LaLanne talks about his father's poor eating habits that led to his early death.

But for the most part, the stories are inspirational and helpful for fathers looking to create their own legacy with their children. I enjoyed actress Marlo Thomas' tribute to her dad, actor Danny Thomas. She appreciated his sincere sense of humor and his commitment to always look forward in life. Children's activist Marian Wright Edelman writes about her father's faith and personal integrity, both of which have been guiding lights for her. Film producer Aaron Spelling talks about his father's support of his interest in writing, including a great story about how his father got to show some of Aaron's scripts to commedian Eddie Cantor.

All in all, I found this to be a very enjoyable book; it was easy to read and stimulated a lof of feelings and thoughts about the legacy I am leaving for my children. Any father would benefit from reading this book and looking inside his own attitude and efforts to be a great dad.
