Some of my favorite memories of fathering experiences are related to reading to my children. Whether on vacation in the car, on a camping trip, or just sitting in the family room, we have read lots of books together. When the children were old enough to read aloud, they each took their turns reading the classics and popular books of their childhood. And what dad doesn't love snuggling up with a preschooler on the sofa and reading out loud to them.

These book lists will help you find the perfect book to read with your children this summer, or any time for that matter.

Books for and About Dads
For your preschoolers and pre-readers, these are the perfect books to help express your love for them. Each one is about daddies of all kinds, and reading them together will strengthen your love and relationship.

Books for Dads and Tweens
During that awkward age between childhood and the teen years, kids and dads sometimes drift apart. But taking time to read a book together that they will enjoy can really help bridge that gap that tends to happen. These books will be fun reading for both you and your tweens.

Safe Summer Reading for Teenagers
Sometimes reading aloud with your teenagers is not "cool," at least for them. But you want their summer reading books to be safe--avoiding violence, sex, drug use, profanity, and so forth. These books are well written and entertaining for teens without the themes dads would like them to avoid.
