For Thanksgiving this year, we have the year off as out kids are spending it with their inlaws. That is quite a bit different than last year when we hosted 25 people for dinner. So we have a little experience with handling the invasion of the houseguests.
But we have also been houseguests (about once or twice a year at our son's home) and we know what an upheaval the whole houseguest experience can be for children. Parents often assume that their kids are OK with this arrangement, but they may not be. What are the best ways to prepare your children for the visit of relatives or guests for an evening, a week or longer?
