The apps just seem to keep on coming, at least if you are an iPhone user or have an Android device. It can be hard to sort through the options and alternatives and even harder to keep up on what apps your teens will want to download and use on their smartphones.
SnapChat is a new app for the iPhone and Android which has become very popular among tweens, teens and young adults. It offers the ability to send photos from one member to another with a time limit on the life of the photo. That is all well and good and kids will love it. But there can be some dangers lurking in an app like SnapChat and the false sense of security it might bring. Many parents are expressing concern that SnapChat could lead to an increase in sexting because it limits the risk that photos will be spread around the Internet or around the high school.
