Dad on laptopI have talked with lots of dads that are getting into journaling, whether they use pen and paper, computer, or whether they blog their journal entries on line.  Writing about your life and experiences is therapeutic and it also records your thoughts and feelings for posterity.

My wife recently received a copy of the journal of her grandfather from his young adult years.  He passed away before she was born and all she knew about him was from family stories.  Being able to read from his personal journal brought her a lot closer to him and helped her feel that inter-generational connection.   That experience got me to thinking about the importance of journaling for our posterity.  In addition, posting your journal entries in a blog can offer help and perspective to other fathers who read.

Journaling about our experiences as fathers or as families is important for us, our families and for future generations.  Learn about why and how to keep a family or personal journal, and learn about how to use a blog as your family journal.
