We were reminiscing a couple of days ago about many of our long-standing family traditions. We have had lots of traditions around the holidays, and particularly at Christmas time. But we also had a number of rituals like Monday family nights, a story or two or three before bedtime, and awesome Saturday morning breakfasts, courtesy of Dad!
Family rituals and traditions bring stability and security in the life of a child, and their favorites will even be replicated in their own families as they grow up and have children of their own. And the warm memories of the good rituals and traditions can stay with a child for many years (and maybe even their whole life).
