How Moms Can Encourage Dads to Connect to Their Children

I seem to get this question a lot from moms who post on the Fatherhood Forum or who email me.  The question always reads something like this:

How do I get my child's father to connect and spend more time with her.  He is always busy or is just not interested in being a good dad to my child.

It just seems strange to me - totally foreign to my way of thinking - to have a father who is just not interested in being a father.  Virtually every father I interact with has the opposite problem - wanting more time with his children but being constrained by time, resources, or legal limits.

So I took time to write this article addressed to the moms who wish their child's father was more involved in their lives.  And whether the dads are living at home or living away, these ideas are designed to help moms encourage these men to be even better and more committed dads.
