High School Girls in Pregnancy Pact

Monday June 30, 2008
Want to read something that will scare the daylights out of you? According to an article in Time Magazine Online, a group of teens girls at Gloucester High School have formed a pregnancy pact - a promise to become pregnant and raise their children together. Time reports that at least 17 girls among the school's 1,200 member student body are expecting. It is amazing that these young women seem to think that purposely becoming a single-parent teenage mom is something to be sought after. Are we not doing a good enough job teaching about the importance of fathers in the lives of children? And about the importance of having children when you are an adult, not a teen?
