Single Dads and Kids' Health

Tuesday September 4, 2007
Recent national studies suggest that single dads are less likely than married dads to have family health insurance and provide preventive care for their children. This study, published in the journal Health Services Research and summarized in the Baltimore Sun, seemed a little weak to me. It looked at indicators like health insurance and preventive care, but did not address doctor's visits when children were ill. In any case, it sounds a bit of a warning note for single dads.
