More on Breaking the Silence
Friday December 9, 2005
Those who have followed the debate on the recent PBS "documentary" called Breaking the Silence will be interested in the review of this program by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting's ombudsman. Breaking the Silence was intended to expose the treatment of abused children in family courts. But fathers and fathers' groups, including the Fatherhood Forum, have complained loudly about the unbalanced nature of the documentary--even though 60% of the abuse that occurs in the United States is at the hand of abusive mothers. And now, after review, CPB has determined that the documentary was unbalanced and needs correction. Thanks to the many fathers who wrote to complain, there has been a fair review of this unfair program.
