Million Father March Back to School

With the first day of school approaching quickly for most school districts, a Chicago-based organziation, the Black Star Project, is organizing the Million Father March. In this march, dads walk their children to school of the first day of school to demonstrate their commitment to their kids and to education. Find out if a Million Father March is scheduled in your community, or volunteer to organize one.

I work in the ParentCenter at SanPedro High School in SanPedro ,California. Last year we had about 25 fathers walk/ride their kids to school. We took pictures of the fathers with their kids. We provided water and took pictures. September 8,2009 we will do this event again, Hopefully more dads will make the effort. So all you dads,uncles,brothers,grandfathers do your part show our children you care about their education.
