Staying Close to Home After A Divorce

Wednesday January 19, 2005
Recently, I was talking with a very angry divorcing dad who was just ready to pick up and move across the country if he didn't get custody of his kids. He was bitter about the process and how he had been treated by his wife's attorney. Once cooler heads prevailed, we talked about the impact of him relocating far away, and I talked about a study on the impact of children of divorce when one parent moves away. I hope he reconsiders--it really is best all around for both mom and dad to be in close proximity and to be real parents to their children.
