I know, my dad says the same thing… “I don’t want anything, just you.” and it drives me NUTS! I know he is sincere when he says it, and perfectly satisfied with no gift, but I still want to get him something. I know he likes Harleys and and he has a 42 foot boat and he’s into hunting and fishing, but I have no idea what I can get him that’s under $50 and he can enjoy. Any suggestions? I would reaaaalllly appreciate it. And I want to get him something that he can look at and think about me because we live about 70 miles apart, and we don’t get to see eachother often. Thanks for the help!

(33) lung duck says:

last year i bought my 63 year old dad a pair of Vans slip-on with Slayer Logos and a big pentaram in the middle of the toe area. i figured i would buy him something i would want and it would remind him of me. everyone is always trying to out-think what to get dad. dad doesnt need anything because, by default of being a father, dads usually endure pain and sacrifice over the years supporting a family ulitmately turning off the impulse to need for themselves. in other words the Dad is in need of nothing except a happy family. so give dad a super happy day for christmas and keep the fighting to a minimum, and you can never lose with something that will remind him of you.

(43) Laurie says:

I get my dad the same thing every year. And he LOVES it!! I go to a local coin shop. They have these huge bins of coins and you pay by the ounce. I get him a few scoops of coins, put them in a little velvet bag, and for the whole day, he, my brothers, my husband, my uncles, and my sons all go through the coins looking for “treasure”. From time to time I am able to find old post cards from his home town “back in the day” and he really likes those too. He doesn’t really NEED anything. So I figure, he likes the coins, I will keep giving him the coins.
